How we find and check places
- Candidate places come from OpenStreetMap: spas, saunas, public baths, hotels with a spa or sauna, and swimming halls with a sauna.
- Each place is checked against its own website. It is only published if the website shows that there is a sauna, spa or wellness offering. We read the pages with automated tools, including language models, and check that the quote showing this really appears on the page.
- Uncertain cases are reviewed by hand before they are published. Closed places and places without evidence are left out.
- The description is one or two neutral sentences based on the place's own text, without prices or superlatives.
- Visitors can suggest new places and report errors. Suggestions and photos are reviewed before they are published.
How often the data is updated
The list is updated continuously. New places are added in batches, and changes a place makes itself show up right away. Prices, opening hours and offers can change, so always check with the place before you go.
Free and independent
Spafari is free for visitors. You book directly with the place or on a booking site. Some links are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This does not affect ratings: they only come from reviews that visitors write on Spafari.
Do you own or work at a place?
Open the place on Spafari and choose “Do you work here?”. Once we have verified you, you can update the description, photos, opening hours and contact details. If your place is missing, you can suggest it.
